Sensis ADSE-X Operational at Newark

Airport Surface Detection Equipment, Model X (ASDE-X) system from Sensis, based in Syracuse, N.Y., is now operational at Newark Liberty International Airport. ASDE-X, a runway incursion detection and alerting system, is now operational at 18 U.S. airports through FAA's ASDE-X program. FAA will deploy ASDE-X to a total of 35 airports by 2011. ASDE-X uses surface movement radar, multilateration and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) to provide real-time information of aircraft and vehicles on the airport surface.
