Northrop Grumman Signs ATC Pacts

Northrop Grumman’s Europe-based air traffic management system subsidiary, Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems, was awarded two contracts to install its systems at airports in the U.K. and Trinidad and Tobago. The first contract, with NATS Services Ltd., was for the installation of Park Air Systems’ NOVA 9000 Radar Processing and Flight Planning System, with fully integrated electronic flight strips, to the new air traffic control tower at the U.K.’s Jersey International Airport. The system will be the primary operational ATC tool for approach and tower control at Jersey International Airport, the company said. The second contract involves the delivery of an extended-range VHF communications system to the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority. The system will deliver ground-to-air voice communications throughout the country's airspace, including the surrounding oceanic area, and will be installed for operational use within the Trinidad and Tobago Piarco Flight Information Region in 2009 with stations installed in Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbados, the company said.
