President and CEO
Skip Nelson has been the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ADS-B Technologies since its founding in 2004.
As an early member of the FAA Alaska Region’s Capstone Program, he was the first pilot to fly with a fully certified ADS-B system (January 2001) and has since flown more than 2,500 flight hours in ADS-B equipped general aviation and commercial aircraft. His technical experience in the field includes being the first to deploy UAT on the Asian continent for the CAAC in July 2005 and the first to demonstrate UAT on the African continent in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in June 2006.
He has extensive experience in the airborne test and evaluation of ADS-B ground stations and avionics for both the FAA and commercial contractors and has personally supervised the installation of more than a dozen ADS-B ground stations and hundreds of ADS-B aircraft avionics suites around the world.
