Patrick Krohn is the Director of the Systems Engineering Department at Universal Avionics Research/Development/Engineering Division in Redmond, Wash. He oversees engineering design and development of the Vision-1 Synthetic Vision product, the first FAA Part 25 approved Synthetic Vision system on the market. He co-authored and presented SAE paper “Vision 1 Synthetic Vision System” at Seattle SAE conference which was later published as “Universal Avionics Provides Vision” in Aerospace Engineering, January 2002.
Patrick is also co-chairman of the RTCA SC-213 committee responsible for development industry requirements for the evolving EFVS (Enhanced Flight Vision Systems) and SVS (Synthetic Vision Systems) systems.
Patrick holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration.
