Anthony T. "Buzz" Cerino

Anthony T. "Buzz" Cerino is the principal and sole member of BPS, LLC, a consulting and projects entity, specializing in RFID and advanced commercial and military communications systems, integration, operations, laboratories and test and evaluation.

From 1996 until September 2005, he served as the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Transportation Security Laboratory’s Communications Technology Lead. His group supported all aspects of transportation communications security, with emphasis on the needs of Federal Air Marshals, Transportation Terminal C3I Centers, and Active and Passive identification and tracking of baggage, cargo, personnel, vehicles and other assets.

Mr. Cerino was an active participant for over 12 years in the IATA Radio Frequency Working Groups and other IATA groups addressing RFID applications for cargo, on-board trolleys, etc., in support of efforts toward the development of international standards for RF baggage tags and other applications. He also was Test Director for initial FAA/TSA-sponsored baggage and cargo identification and tracking RFID tests.

Mr. Cerino has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Electrical Engineering, both from Drexel University, in Philadelphia.
