Webinar June 29th: Aircraft Valuations in 2010: Making Sense of a Turbulent Year
“Understanding Aircraft Values in A New World Order”
The aviation market is reeling from the effects of contagion such that no region is immune from the harshest consequences of economic recession. Old and new world powerhouses of aviation are experiencing crippling times as vital premium traffic dries up and price sensitive leisure travellers vacillate over whether to spend dwindling cash in the face of mounting unemployment. The contraction of fleets is both rapid and universal. Values of virtually all aircraft – including those previously held in the highest regard – have tumbled as operators have clambered to match capacity with demand. The cycle may be familiar but each downturn represents new challenges to values, none more so than during this downturn. New aircraft types and environmental pressures create fresh pressures on values such that recovery is not assured. Will values of existing types ever recover and if so when and by how much? This conference exposes the fundamentals of what drives aircraft values, how they are used and seeks to establish whether we have sufficient appreciation of what lies ahead given the emergence of a new world order.
