Surveillance Radar Tests Begin

Northrop Grumman has started flight tests on the Global Hawk’s new airborne surveillance radar. The first flight under the Multiplatform Radar Technology Insertion Program (MP-RTIP) occurred last week on a high-altitude Proteus testbed. The MP-RTIP sensor for the Global Hawk unmanned aerial system was tested in moving target indicator (MTI) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) modes. More
