Satcom Installation
AirCell, Louisville, Colo., said Jet Works Air Center in Denton, Texas, completed the first Axxess Satcom system installation aboard a Piaggio Avanti II aircraft. AirCell said the system was installed via a new FAA supplemental type certificate written by Jet Works Air Center and owned by Piaggio America, Inc. Jet Works Air Center, a business aircraft service & completion facility in Denton, Texas, specializes in maintenance, avionics, interior/completions and exterior paint. AirCell the system for this particular aircraft includes an its Axxess II Satellite Transceiver, mounted in the nose of the aircraft, a Cabin Telecommunications Router mounted in the cabin, with color handsets in both the flight deck and the cabin. Axxess, a multi-channel, satcom system designed for medium-to-large business aircraft, comes with two built-in channels of Iridium satellite communications. Also included are AirCell’s FAA-certified handsets with large, color displays as well as advanced noise reduction technology and standard ear bud/headset jacks for clear, quiet calling.
