Rockwell Collins to Supply Avionics for Aeroflot 737s
Rockwell Collins will provide avionics products for 50 new Boeing 737s to be operated by Aeroflot Airlines.
Aviation Capital Services (ACS) — a Russian aircraft leasing company — selected the Rockwell Collins avionics components for Aeroflot’s new fleet of Boeing aircraft.
Among the avionics selected was Rockwell Collins’ GLU-925 multi-mode radar (MMR) which the company said allows operators to perform Required Navigation Performance (RNP) approaches into airports and enables airlines to deploy Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) capabilities.
Rockwell Collins said its MMR fulfills the requirements for aircraft navigation position source, Category III IILS, Category I Global Positioning Landing System (GLS), accessing RNP/RNAV airspace (down to RNP Authorization Required 0.1), and it meets the GPS position andavailability requirements for ADS-B Out mandates.
ACS will begin deliveries of the 737s to Aeroflot beginning in September 2013.
