Rockwell Collins Wins Data Link Deal

Rockwell Collins said it was selected by Raytheon Missile Systems to design, develop and produce its Strike Common Weapon Data Link Program. Under the $18 million contract, Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, said it will provide its Weapon Data Link, which provides in-flight retargeting, bomb hit indication, weapon target handover and programmability. The Strike Common Weapon Data Link Program, sponsored by the U.S. Navy, PMA-201, upgrades the Joint Stand Off Weapon (JSOW) and Harpoon weapon systems with a network enabled data link capability. The company said the addition of the Weapon Data Link to precision weapons brings the capability to destroy critical time-sensitive and moving targets in all weather conditions.
