Rockwell Collins, Jeppesen Streamline Flight Data Uploads
Rockwell Collins on Monday announced a new agreement at the EAA AirVenture show to begin automatically transferring Jeppesen electronic flight charts to flight decks using its Ascend Aircraft Information Manager (AIM).

The agreement provides operators with direct access to flight data, without the need to manually download the data from Jeppesen's website. Aircraft equipped with Rockwell Collins' Pro Line Fusion and Pro Line 21 flight decks can wirelessly receive Jeppesen electronic chart updates.
“This agreement with Jeppesen takes yet another step out of the data loading and update process,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager, flight information solutions, cabin and electromechanical systems for Rockwell Collins.
Scott Reagan, director of client management at Jeppesen, said the two companies will continue to pursue methods that can improve the integration of their flight data with Rockwell Collins' avionics.
