NetJets Adds Aircell to 100 Aircraft

NetJets is adding Aircell’s in-flight connectivity system to 100 additional aircraft in its fleet.

Aircell said the 100 additional systems will establish NetJets as having 40 percent of its total fleet of business jets equipped with in-flight connectivity wireless services.

“For both business and pleasure, our owners value the ability to stay connected while they travel,” said Chuck Suma, senior vice president for NetJets. “Connectivity is an integral part of our Ownerexperience, and the decision to expand was driven by the needs of Owners of our fractional share and card products.”

Duncan Aviation will perform the installations for NetJets, and the entire retrofit operation will be complete in 2014.

“NetJets’ decision to expand what is already business aviation’s largest fleet of connected aircraft speaks directly to the increasingly important role connectivity plays in the life of today’s traveler. We’re pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with NetJets on this important program,” said John Wade, executive vice president and general manager at Aircell.
