Lockheed Martin, DCMA Complete C-5M Super Galaxy Production Flight

Lockheed Martin and the Defense Contract Management Agency have completed the first C-5M Super Galaxy production joint acceptance flight.

The joint acceptance flight is expected to reduce total delivery time by two to four weeks, as the C-5M flight acceptance enters the final phase of the process to deliver the aircraft back to the U.S. Air Force, according to Lockheed.

The Air Force and Lockheed Martin recently announced that the problems with the C-5M’s autopilot, environmental control system and thrust reversers have all been corrected and successfully tested.

“This is just one step of many we are implementing to increase the rate of C-5M deliveries to our warfighters,” said Greg Ulmer, vice president of the C-5 program at Lockheed Martin.
