Jeppesen Introduces Electronic Flight Bag for iPad

Jeppesen introduced their FliteDeck Pro Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) iPad solution last week.

The Boeing subsidiary said their iPad-based EFB is now available for airlines, fractional business jet operators and military fleet programs. FliteDeck Pro has compatibility with mobile device management systems for end-to-end control of EFB content.

“Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro for iPad ensures the right information is delivered at the right time and used in powerful ways, according to the preferences of our customers who run complex operations,” said Tim Huegel, director of Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Airlines and other fleet-managed operators now have even more choice when determining what EFB platform(s) works best for their unique operational needs. From iPad to fully installed systems, we offer multiple options for pilot-wide and fleet-wide deployments of EFB.”

Jeppesen’s latest EFB shows the growing presence of the iPad as a flight bag solution for aircraft operators. Mesa Air Group recently received FAA approval to begin a six-month validation process using the iPad as a Class I EFB.
