Japan Airlines Selects Gogo In-Flight Connectivity
Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a new contract with Gogo to provide its satellite-based in-flight connectivity service across its commercial fleet of 77 aircraft. Gogo’s Ku-satellite in-flight connectivity service is scheduled to begin for JAL passengers by the summer of 2014, Gogo said.
With the new service, JAL will become the first airline in Japan to feature connected aircraft within its commercial fleet.
"We couldn't be more excited to work with JAL on bringing Gogo's connectivity services to JAL's passengers," said Gogo's president and CEO, Michael Small. "We know from our experience that having connectivity has become a competitive necessity for airlines.”
