Honeywell Honored with 2006 Supplier Excellence Award from Defense Supply Center
Honeywell announced it has been selected to receive a Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) 2006 Supplier Excellence Award, which recognizes an organization's commitment to on-time product delivery and quality. Honeywell will be honored with a Gold Award for its perfect rating as a top supplier to the U.S. military. “We are committed to ensuring our lead times remain as low as possible, and the quality of our switch and sensor solutions consistently meet our customers’ needs. We are very excited to receive this industry recognition as one of the highest performing suppliers to the military,” said Mike Hessler, aerospace and defense product director, Honeywell Sensing & Control. To qualify for the recognition, a vendor's past performance is measured by the Automated Best Value System (ABVS) – a computerized system that collects a supplier’s on-time delivery and product quality data from the prior year and translates it into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100. Other qualification criteria include a consideration for business ethics and integrity. In addition, vendors must have shipped 50 or more contract line items for the DSCC during a 12-month period. 2006 Gold, Silver and Bronze winners were honored at the Land and Maritime Supply Chains Business Conference and Exhibition on August 27-29th at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, Ohio.
