Gogo, Inmarsat Partner for GX Ka-Band Network
Gogo signed an agreement with Inmarsat to become a reseller of the Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band network in the commercial air transport market. The partnership will enable Gogo to deliver a faster in-flight connectivity for its commercial airline customers when GX gains the ability to deliver full global coverage in 2014.

Initially GX will be provided through a constellation of three satellites, Gogo said.
"Inmarsat has assembled a great team and we are confident in the execution plan we've put in place. With the addition of Inmarsat's Ka-band service, Gogo has the ability to provide the most complete range of solutions, which enable us to service the full-fleet needs of our current and future airline partners; regardless of aircraft size, mission or location,” said Michael Small, CEO of Gogo.
Inmarsat GX Managing Director Leo Mondale calls the GXnetwork “future-proof” with more than enough broadband capacity for future growth. Gogo did not say which of its customers will be the first to access its GX network, or when it plans to go live with the Ka-band signal. More
