Frequentis Completes Danish Upgrades

European communications company Frequentis said it completed voice communications upgrades for the Royal Danish Air Force at two of the country’s airports.The modernization program included outfitting the tower and approach at the Karup and Skrydstrup airports with Frequentis’ voice communication system, the VCS 3020X. The Royal Danish Air Force is in charge of both military and civil air traffic control in Karup. The VCS 3020X offers a flexible architecture due to its hardware platform and opens up to future extensions. Its fully digital system architecture provides enough system capacity to handle even the largest Air Traffic Centers in the world. The VCS 3020X already prepares the migration to IP environments and IP based voice switching. The VCS 3020X targets mainly the area of civil Air Traffic Control, but it is also supposed to be employed in other mission critical environments.
