Emrise Wins Typhoon Add-On Contract

Emrise Corp., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., said its U.K.-based power supply company, Xcel Power Systems Ltd., received an additional $600,000 in orders for power supplies to upgrade avionics of the Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 2 aircraft. The new order, which will ship over the next 12 months, brings Emrise’s Eurofighter Tranche 2 orders for about 225 aircraft to $9 million. The company’s remaining backlog of Tranche 2 orders is worth about $6 million. "The Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft Tranche 2 build is the largest single military program Emrise has ever been awarded. It doubled our prior Tranche 1 program award for 125 aircraft that was nearly $4.5 million,” said Carmine T. Oliva, Emrise chairman, president and CEO.
