Curtiss-Wright to Supply Data Acquisition Systems to Embraer
Curtiss-Wright Controls was awarded a contract from Embraer to provide rugged data acquisition and recorder technology for use on the Legacy 500 business jets. Curtiss-Wright Controls Avionics & Electronics (CWC-AE) delivered its Acra KAM-500, Acra multi-role recorder, and Acra network switch subsystems to Embraer for use on the Legacy 500 network FAA certification program.
Embraer’s move from traditional Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) to Ethernet-based technology prompted an examination of best-in-class systems available worldwide. Embraer selected Curtiss-Wright Controls’ technology for use on its first Ethernet flight certification program so it can provide the FAA with performance results from dual Ethernet and PCM data streams.
“We are very excited to announce this important partnership with Embraer, the first of what we hope to be many opportunities to contribute to their success in the future,” said David Adams, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. “We are proud that Embraer selected our rugged data acquisition technology for use on this important certification test for the Legacy 500 business jet. We believe our selection resulted from our commitment to listen to what the customer wanted and our willingness to work with them to develop and deliver exactly what they needed rather than simply offering an existing solution.”
