Continental Deploys Sensis System at IAH

Continental Airlines launched a ground-based situational awareness system made by Sensis Corp., Syracuse, N.Y., at Houston Intercontinental Airport. Sensis’s Aerobahn Service is a web-based system that provides the airline with real-time information into its hub operations at the airport. Continental also uses the Aerobahn system at Newark Liberty International Airport. “Continental’s team members at the airport, as well as those at the System Operations Control Center now have a robust set of tools to proactively manage and monitor ground operations,” said Mark Moran, executive vice president of operations, Continental Airlines. “We expect to make more informed, collaborative decisions about airline resources for better system-wide operational performance, with an eye for providing our customers with an exceptional travel experience with Continental while achieving our environmental goals.” Sensis Aerobahn integrates flight schedule and operational data with Sensis Multistatic Dependent Surveillance ground surveillance for a real-time picture of ground traffic. The system includes TaxiView, which provides real-time situational view of taxiing aircraft; OpsView, which delivers real-time and historical information for analysis and reporting to review operational events and identify trends; and QuickView, which provides an assessment of airfield operations with real-time status of arriving and departing flights.
