Lockheed Martin said it has been awarded a $635 million fixed-price incentive contract from the United States government to upgrade Turkish Air Force F-16s. Under terms of the contract,
Lockheed Martin will provide 216 modernization kits for Turkish Air Force F-16C and F-16D models. The contract includes flight testing, training and technical support and continues work started under an initial contract in July 2005, based on an agreement signed between the governments of Turkey and the United States. Work will be conducted at the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics facility in Fort Worth, Tex., and at Tusas Aerospace Industries in Ankara, Turkey, through February 2016.
