Pro Line Fusion Chosen For New Embraer Jets

Embraer unveiled its new midsize MSJ and “midlight” MLJ business jets Tuesday in a Washington, D.C., ceremony. The twinjets will be equipped with Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics suite, and powered by Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans. The new aircraft, featuring fly-by-wire flight control, are designed to fill a gap between Embraer’s Phenom 300 light jet and midsize Legacy 600. The MSJ is expected to enter service in 2012; the MLJ in 2013. The selection of the Pro Line Fusion suite, introduced at the NBAA conference last October, represents the debut of Rockwell Collins integrated avionics on Embraer business jets. Standard features on the MSJ and MLJ fight decks will be four, 15-inch LCD displays with synthetic vision, an advanced flight management system with GPS WAAS, supporting Localizer Performance with Vertical guidance (WAAS/LPV) and Required Navigation Performance approaches and a traffic surveillance system capable of ADS-B. Options will include enhanced vision, MultiScan weather radar, Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications and surface management system.
