Eclipse Aviation Corp: Burtis, Vice President

Eclipse Aviation Corp. has promoted Don Burtis from director of avionics and electronics to vice president of avionics and electronics, in charge of systems development for the Eclipse 500 business jet. Burtis has 30 years of experience in systems development and played an integral role in developing Eclipse Aviation’s Avio avionics and aircraft systems management package. Trompeter Electronics: Desilets, Bus. Dev. Specialist

Ron Desilets recently joined Trompeter Electronics, Westlake Village, Calif., to assume a new position: military/aerospace business development specialist. He will be responsible for sales development and customer support of Trompeter’s radio frequency (RF) interconnect products for the military and aerospace markets. Celerity Digital Broadband Test: McGuire, Regional Sales Mngr.

Celerity Digital Broadband Test, a Cupertino, Calif.-based division of L-3 Communications, has named Lucy McGuire western regional sales manager. Previously employed by Rational Software as an account executive, McGuire holds degrees from Rice University, Yale University and Stanford University. Thales Group: Pasinetti, Security Vice President

Pierre Pasinetti has been promoted to security vice president for the Thales Group, replacing Pierre Martinez, who has left the company. Scientific Monitoring Inc.: James, Dir. of Aviation Business

Phoenix-based Scientific Monitoring Inc. has appointed Michael James director of the company’s aviation business, involving software and Web-enabled technology for turbine engine condition monitoring and maintenance planning. He formerly was employed by Honeywell Engine Systems and Services for 22 years. James is a certified FAA designated engineering representative (DER) for flight-critical engine control systems. Garrett Aviation Services: Hogue, Regional Sales Mngr.

Karlyn Hogue recently left JB&A Aviation to become the regional sales manager for Garrett Aviation Services. Operating out of the company’s Springfield, Ill., and Houston facilities, she will be responsible for sales in South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. Teledyne Controls Inc.: New Officials

Los Angeles-based Teledyne Controls Inc. recently announced the promotions of Armen Nahapetian and George Simmons. Nahapetian is vice president of engineering and Simmons is vice president of sales and service. An official with Teledyne Controls since 1985, Nahapetian has held the positions of senior director of engineering, director of research and development, director of data acquisition systems and manager of airborne software. A Stanford University graduate, he was an assistant professor, teaching computer science, before joining the company.

A 24-year veteran with the company, Simmons has held such positions as director-ACARS product line, regional director-Pacific, director of systems engineering, director of sales and marketing-aircraft systems, director of Seattle operations and senior director of marketing, sales and service. Nav Canada: New Officials

Air traffic services provider, Nav Canada, recently announced two new appointments. It has named Neil Wilson vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. A recent partner in the Ottawa office of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, Wilson has experience in transactions and areas of litigation, including negotiations for amending Canada’s constitution and the commercialization of the country’s air navigation system. The fixed-base operator (FBO) and aircraft maintenance and training center, Million Air Teterboro (N.J.), has announced the promotions of five employees.
