Military Avionics Demand Boosts Elbit Revenue

[Avionics Today March 21, 2014] Elbit Systems reported 2013 revenue numbers of $2.93 billion, up from $2.89 billion the previous year, the Israeli defense manufacturer said in its annual earnings report.

Increasing demand in Israel for avionics systems, command and control systems and maintenance services helped with the increase in revenue, Elbit said in a press statement. Demand for more airborne systems and C4ISR (Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance) also helped with the growth.

Bezhalel Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems, said commercial avionics systems will be a driver of growth for the company in 2014.

"Recently, we implemented some organizational changes to enhance our market position in the areas of cyber and intelligence systems as well as commercial avionics systems. We consider both of these areas as growth engines for the Company and complementary to our traditional defense-based business lines," said Machlis.
