Lockheed Martin to Provide Avionics Upgrades for C-130T

Lockheed Martin has received a $30 million contract from the U.S. Naval Air Systems command to integrate new avionics on its fleet of C-130T aircraft.

Under the new contract, Lockheed Martin will incorporate the Department of Defense’s Future Airborne Capability Environment conformant cockpit into the four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft.

"This award validates the Navy's confidence in our cockpit solution and expands our product offerings beyond the Common Cockpit for MH-60 helicopters," said Mark Swymeler, vice president, electronic product line at Lockheed Martin.  "This program is an integral part of the Department of Defense's avionics obsolescence upgrade program and will affordably enhance flight crew situational awareness, productivity and safety."

Lockheed Martin expects to complete the upgrades by 2016.
