Curtiss-Wright to Provide Rotary Actuators for Northrop Grumman

Curtiss Wright Controls signed a $1.6 million contract with Northrop Grumman to provide rotary actuators for the U.S. Marine Corps Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) program.

The rotary geared actuators are currently being delivered to Northrop Grumman, with the last deliveries expected to be complete in the second quarter 2012. The actuators transmit power from an electric motor to lift and lower the G/ATOR system’s flat-screen antenna array, Curtiss-Wright said.

“We are excited to have been selected by Northrop Grumman to provide our rotary actuators for use in the important G/ATOR program, as this represents the first partnership of what we hope to be many between our Flight Systems group and Northrop Grumman on the G/ATOR program,” said Tom Quinly, president of Curtiss-Wright Controls.
