Optical Network Interconnections
French aerospace connector manufacturer Souriau and Protokraft, of Kingsport, Tenn., have developed optical network interconnections using Souriau’s ELIO optical interfaces.
Protokraft introduced the Sabre Series of high-speed optoelectronic solutions with Souriau´s ELIO optical interfaces for avionics optical networks. Protokraft Sabre series high-speed optoelectronic solutions consist of fiber optic transmitter or receiver functions integrated into an environmentally sealed D38999 shell with a Souriau ELIO optical interface per ARINC 818, 801, 803 and 804.
The Sabre series optoelectronic transmitters and receivers have an ELIO 2.5mm ceramic optical fiber ferrule connector interface per EN 4531 and ABS 1213 and 1379 and are intermateable with Souriau ELIO size 09-01 connectors. They are suitable for optical communications applications from 125Mbps to 4.25Gbps, with optical fiber link distances up to 550 meters, according to the company. They have an operating temperature range from -55°C to +85°C, and are shock, vibration and ESD resistant per Mil-Std-810 and DO-160. Visit www.souriau.com.
NavWorx, of Rowlett, Texas, received FCC Authorization for its ADS600-B Transceiver. It incorporates transmit and receive capabilities of an Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Universal Access Transceiver and is designed to meet FAA TSO-c154b. The ADS600-B generates symbology from traffic and weather broadcasts to be viewed on a variety of cockpit displays. The ADS600-B has a maximum 40-Watt output and operates on a single antenna. Data Bus Tool
Data Device Corp., of Bohemia, N.Y., introduced its Mil-Std-1553 BU-67101Q AceXtreme ExpressCard, which turns any laptop into a data bus analysis tool, the company said. The BU-67101Q offers up to two dual redundant Mil-Std-1553 channels, two user-programmable Digital Discrete I/O and two user-programmable avionics discrete (+35V) I/O. Each 1553 channel can emulate a Bus Controller, or 1-31 Remote Terminals, combined with an independent Bus Monitor. Visit www.ddc-web.com.
API Technologies Corp., of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., introduced the smallest hermetically sealed ceramic Dual 1553 Data Bus Transceiver, the NHi-1565 SOIC. The NHi-1565 SOIC comes in a standard 5V or a low voltage 3.3V version. It measures 0.275 by 0.504 by 0.095 inches, and is available in a full military temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. MGL Avionics, based in Torrance, Calif., released the XTreme mini EFIS. The XTreme is a primary flight display, engine monitor, fuel computer and basic GPS. Flight Control Adapter
Archangel Systems, of Auburn, Ala., received FAA TSO C9c approval to manufacture its Automatic Flight Control (AFC) adapter, which receives ARINC 429 data and converts it to two isolated DC outputs. The adapter also creates error signals for heading, roll, pitch and altitude to enable attitude and altitude hold functions. Archangel’s AFC has DO178b Level B operating software.
