Honeywell: Smith, President & CEO

Michael A. Smith, former acting president of Honeywell Space and Aviation Control, has been named president and CEO of the company’s new (following the merger with AlliedSignal) Aerospace Electronic Systems (AES), based in Phoenix, Ariz. Smith, who also was former president of Honeywell Commercial Aviation Systems Business, will report to Robert D. Johnson, Honeywell’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Honeywell named two other officials to AES: Francis Daly, president of Commercial Aviation Electronic Systems, and Dean Flatt, president of Aerospace Defense and Space Systems.

Rockwell Collins: Reininga, Meritorious Service

The Chief of Naval Research, Department of the U.S. Navy, has awarded Herm Reininga, Rockwell Collins’ vice president of operations, the Meritorious Public Service Citation. Reininga is recognized for his work with the Navy’s Manufacturing Technology (MANTECH) program.

Inmarsat: New Board Members

Satellite communications provider Inmarsat has appointed two new members to its board of directors. John Rennocks becomes an independent director, and Arthur Schechtman replaces board member Firton Acha who resigned. See www.inmarsat.com

Elliott Aviation: Adams, Avionics Manager

Troy Adams, formerly with Dassault Falcon Jet, has been named avionics manager at Elliott Aviation’s Minneapolis, Minn., location. Elliott is based in Moline, Ill.

Mid Continent Instruments: Shumate, Quality Manager

Mid Continent Instruments has appointed Charles Shumate as quality assurance manager and has expanded its customer service department at Van Nuys, Calif., with the addition of Jim Gregory and Larry Wyatt.

Atlantic Aviation: Allen, Poholsky, Managers

Atlantic Aviation has named Brice E. Allen manager for its Flight Support Division at the Northeast Philadelphia FBO facility and John T. Poholsky service manager for the Aircraft Services Division, Wilmington, Del.
