Bernhard Gerwert has been selected to head the EADS Defence Electronics business unit in Ulm, Germany. He succeeds Johann Heitzmann, who has been appointed head of EADS Military Aircraft business unit. Heitzmann, in turn, succeeds Aloysius Rauen, now chief executive officer of Eurofighter GmbH. Gerwert formerly was head of EADS Naval and Ground Systems unit. Before that he was head of finance and controlling at DASA's Defence and Civil Systems Division. Visit www.eads.com.

Mastrangelo, Director of Manufacturing

Marc Mastrangelo recently was named director of manufacturing at Tel-Instrument Electronic Corp., Carlstadt, N.J. His 15 years of experience in manufacturing include positions at Lockheed Martin and, recently, Cooper Industries, in Goldsboro, N.C. Tel-Instrument manufactures avionics test equipment. Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc., Gastonia, N.C., recently promoted David Adams to senior vice president, Electronic Systems Group. He previously was the company's group vice president, Sensors and Drives. In addition, Jameel Barkat has been appointed director, integrated and strategic development, with the Electronic Systems Group, and Ron Espinosa has been named vice president, business development, Embedded Computing. James, Senior Vice President

Reston, Va.-based SI International Inc. recently named Bill James its senior vice president of defense and intelligence business development. James has spent 23 years as a federal civil servant, most recently as a member of the Senior Executive Service for the U.S. Air Force. St�ger, Chief Executive

Thomas St�ger has been named the new chief executive in charge of products and services within Lufthansa Technik AG's executive board. Starting Nov. 1, he will replace Gerald Gallus, who will retire after 25 years with the Hamburg, Germany-based company. The Northrop Grumman Corp. board of directors recently elected James O'Neill corporate vice president and president of the company's Information Technology sector. He succeeds Herb Anderson, who plans to retire Nov. 1. O'Neill joined Northrop Grumman in 2002 as president of the company's TASC business unit.
