IS&S: Ptakowski, President

Innovative Solutions & Support Inc., Exton, Pa., has appointed Roman Ptakowski president. He comes to IS&S from B/E Aerospace Inc., where he was group vice president and general manager. Previously, Ptakowski was with ASEA Brown Boveri, where he was general manager of its protective relay division. NBAA: Longmuir, President

Shelley Longmuir has been named president of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), replacing John Olcott. She joined NBAA’s board of directors June 24. Longmuir’s experience in the aviation industry was most recently with United Airlines, where she was senior vice president of international/regulatory and governmental affairs. Thales Computers: Albarello, Chairman and CEO

The Thales Group has named Alain Albarello, chairman and chief executive officer of Thales Computers. He will be based in Toulon, France. Albarello formerly was director of Thales’ Inboard Technology Center, where he was responsible for the research and development of processors, transmitters, electronics and middleware. Racal Instruments Inc.: Taylor Honored

The Orange County (Calif.) Council of the American Electronics Association (AeA) recently honored Gordon Taylor, president of Racal Instruments, as the 2003 Outstanding Executive-Private Company, for his contribution to the county’s high-tech community. Emteq: Harasha, New License

James Harasha, executive vice president and quality manager at Muskego, Wis.-based Emteq, recently was granted Code 05 authorization for his FAA designated manufacturing inspection representative (DMIR) license. This allows him to perform FAA prototype conformity and issue FAA 8130-3 airworthiness tags. Atlantic Aviation Flight Services Inc.: Falco, Director of Maintenance

Thomas Falco has joined Teterboro, N.J.-based Atlantic Aviation Flight Services Inc. (AAFSI) as director of maintenance. The position was left vacant when the Voyager Group LP recently acquired the business aircraft support company from Atlantic Aviation Corp. Falco, a Connecticut State University graduate, comes to the company with maintenance experience on a range of aircraft, from Sikorsky helicopters to Boeing jets. Visit www.atlanticflight.com.
