[Avionics Today 01-26-2016] JetBlue has announced plans to introduce a fully connected in-seat experience that will include a gate-to-gate in-flight experience, among other new features, as part of its Airbus A320 cabin restyling program.

The complete cabin redesign will include a greater focus on connectivity, comfort, and space for the A320 fleet and will mark the first complete interior redesign since the A320 fleet launched in 2000. A major focus of the new cabin will be keeping customers connected throughout their flight, including free gate-to-gate Fly-Fi high-speed Internet powered by Thales and ViaSat that promises to deliver 12 to 20 Mbps to each connected device. The redesign will also feature a new Internet-enabled In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system and high-definition seatback televisions.

On its fleet of 130 A320 aircraft, JetBlue will become the first domestic airline to launch an IFE system that connects the much-loved seatback television to the aircraft’s Wi-Fi Internet connection for customer use with the Thales STV+ system.
