GOL Airlines Selects Rockwell Collins Avionics
Brazil’s GOL Airlines has selected the full suite of Rockwell Collins’ advanced avionics, including its GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) and MultiScan Threat Detection system, for 20 new Boeing 737NGs. Deliveries of GOL’s new Boeing fleet are expected to begin in early 2014.
“We’re pleased to bring GOL a reliable suite of offerings that will deliver high levels of situational awareness, as well as highly efficient and predictable operations,” said Thierry Tosi, vice president and managing director, Americas for Rockwell Collins. “GOL’s operations will benefit from local support through our Sấo José dos Campos service center staffed by factory-trained technicians that specialize in avionics work for a full range of aircraft.”
The GLU-925 MMR enables airlines and operators to take advantage of evolving Required Navigation Performance (RNP)/Area Navigation (RNAV) and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) capabilities. Rockwell Collins’ MultiScan Threat Detection System – with more than 4,100 systems flying on more than 145 airlines today − is a fully automatic airborne weather radar system.
Earlier this week, China Southern has selected a package of Rockwell Collins avionics, including its MultiScan threat detection system and the GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver, for 16 new Airbus A330s. More
