Question #12 Can you use your Blackberry, iPhone etc. for calls? If so please explain how. If not, why?
Enhancing Your Flight Operations With Global Voice And Data Connectivity
Yes, smartphones, such as iPhone and Blackberry can be used provided they are Wi-Fi enabled versions and a SIP client application, such as Satcom Direct’s AeroV is installed on the handset. This allows the phone to initiate either VoIP calls or utilize the AMBE 2 voice channel within the SwiftBroadband channel to make a call.
