Question #1 Is there still room in the market for one-way communications? For example, a wireless hotspot which would supply live data such as stocks.

ANSWER:

The idea of one-way communication is certainly compatible with the technologies available today. What is most important is if there is an application for one-way communication (i.e. engine performance monitoring being transmitted down to a maintenance facility).
