FAA, EASA Certify CFM Leap-1B Engine

[Avionics Today 05-06-2016] The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA have granted CFM International a Type Certificate for its advanced Leap-1B engine. The Leap-1B engine will power the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which will enter into commercial service in 2017.
The Leap-1B engine flew for the first time on the Boeing 737 MAX on Jan. 29, 2016 and the test campaign is on-going.
