UK-based Drake Electronics Ltd. recently added Bruce Green to its international sales and marketing team. Based in Ottawa, he is responsible for Drake’s business development in Canada, Mexico, Iceland, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. ARINC Inc.: Holt, Projects Director

ARINC Inc. has named Philip Holt projects director, airport systems and services, for Europe, Africa and the Mideast. A 27-year veteran in aviation, Holt previously was a consultant to the airlines of London Heathrow airport, managing the implementation of ARINC’s MUSE technology. ITT Industries: Rowe, VP & Ops Director

The Avionics Division of ITT Industries, Clifton, N.J., has appointed Ron Rowe vice president and director of operations. He oversees the production of the company’s electronic warfare and electronic systems. A 25-year veteran with the company, Rowe formerly worked on the Avionics Division’s Value Based Six Sigma (VBSS) program. Aircraft Electronics Association: New Board Members

The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) announced new members of its board of directors at its recent convention and trade show in Palm Springs, Calif. The new board members are Michael O’Leary, director of avionics, Silverhawk Aviation in Lincoln, Neb.; Dan Derby, senior vice president of marketing and operations, Atlantic Aero in Greensboro, N.C.; Tom Richmond, certification engineer, Gulfstream Aerospace in Appleton, Wis.; and Al Ingle, owner and president of Capital Avionics in Tallahassee, Fla. Ball Aerospace: Taylor, President and CEO

David Taylor has advanced at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. to become president and chief executive officer (CEO), replacing Donald Vanlandingham, who has become chairman of the board. Taylor formerly served as Ball Aerospace’s vice president and chief operating officer (COO). Before that, he was vice president of commercial space operations, an organization he led since it was launched in 1995. Calgary, Alberta-based NovAtel Inc., recently announced three new appointments: Patrick Fenton, chief technology officer; Tony Murfin, vice president, business development; and Graham Purves, vice president, sales. Fenton, who has been with NovAtel since 1998, formerly was vice president, technology. Murfin, who has been with the company eight years, previously was director, aviation. The Lighting Products Division of Welch Allyn Inc. has named Dave Walker aftermarket sales manager. He came to the company from Shako Inc., where he was divisional sales manager. Actively involved in the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the Air Carriers Purchasing Conference (ACPC), Walker also has held positions with Higbee Gasket & Rubber Products and Coyne Textile Services. Garrett Aviation Services: New Officials

Garrett Aviation Services, Tempe, Ariz., recently named Dan Allen chief financial officer (CFO). He replaces Rich Kraatz, who joined GE Aircraft Engines. For two years, Allen has been with Garrett, which is a GE subsidiary. Garrett also has tapped Mark Fischer to be avionics sales manager for the upper United States and central Canada, working out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Rockwell Collins: Promotions, Appointments

The Rockwell Collins board of directors has named Clayton Jones chairman, adding to his duties of president and chief executive officer (CEO). Jones replaces Donald Beall, who served as chairman for a year, to assist in launching Collins as a new publicly held company. "That phase is over," says Beall, who is now president of Collins’ newly created executive committee, "and Clay Jones has earned the right to lead the Rockwell Collins board of directors." Jones was president of Collins, as a subsidiary of Rockwell International, from January 1999 to May 2001. He became president and CEO of Collins, the separate, publicly held company, on June 2001.

In other news, Collins has named Robert Chiusano executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of commercial systems, and Gregory Churchill executive vice president and COO of government systems. Churchill, who previously was vice president and general manager of business and regional systems, replaces Chiusano. A 24-year employee at Collins, Chiusano replaces Neal Keating, who has left the company.

In addition, Fred Sandow, director-Boeing strategic programs for Collins, has been appointed to the 2002 board of examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Arden Bement, director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), appointed Sandow.
