Founder and President Dies

The founder and president of Universal Avionics Systems Corp. (UASC), Hubert Naimer, died on Sept. 12 at the age of 82. Austrian-born, he was in Vienna at the time of his death. Over more than 40 years, Naimer flew high-performance aircraft, and in 1981 he founded UASC. At the 1982 National Business Aviation Association exhibition, his fledgling company unveiled the UNS-1 flight management system (FMS). Since then, UASC has delivered more than 15,000 FMSs. Succeeding Hubert Naimer as the company's president is his son, J.L. "Ted" Naimer, who has been involved in the business for more than 30 years. Visit www.uasc.com.

New Officials

Tom Quinly has been named president of Curtiss-Wright Controls' Embedded Computing group, which was formed following the company's acquisitions of Synergy Microsystems, Primagraphics, Trentec, Vista Controls and Dy 4 Systems. Quinly previously was the president of Dy 4. Curtiss-Wright also has hired Greg Piponius as the director of sales and marketing for its Irwindale, Calif., site. Znamenak, VP-Sales and Marketing

Randy Znamenak has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for Stevens Aviation, Greenville, S.C. He joins Stevens Aviation from Cessna, where he was sales and marketing manager for its Citation Service Center division. Visit www.stevensaviation.com.

Monsel, Vice President-Programs

Dassault Falcon Jet, Teterboro, N.J., has named Eric Monsel the vice president of programs. He replaces Marc Valle, who will retire after seven years in the position. Monsel will be responsible for coordinating the new options and projects developed for the completions programs. He was previously Dassault's deputy vice president of engineering in Merignac, France. Hilboldt, Senior Manager-Completion Sales

Roxanne Hilboldt recently was named senior manager of completion sales for St. Louis-based Midcoast Aviation. Hilboldt, a licensed airframe and powerplant technician, started her career with Midcoast in 1981 as a maintenance technician. New Officers

Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems sector has named Janis Pamiljans vice president and program manager for its F-35 team. He replaces Steve Briggs, who will continue to serve as vice president and deputy of the sector's Air Combat Systems area in El Segundo, Calif. Pamiljans came to Northrop Grumman in 1987 as a flight test engineer. Northrop Grumman also has named Steven Perkins as the vice president of business development and strategy for the company's Information Technology sector.
