Alan Caslavka

Alan Caslavka was named vice president and general manager of Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence Solutions for Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, Caslavka is responsible for developing solutions, to include advanced communications and mission system applications as well as technologies encompassing electronic warfare, information assurance and networking. Since joining Rockwell Collins 22 years ago, Caslavka has held various manufacturing operations, engineering and program management positions. He served as director of Navigation Systems, where he was responsible for worldwide GPS solutions for soldiers, weapons systems and aircraft applications. Most recently, Caslavka served as the director of European Sensors and Displays in the United Kingdom.

John C. Long

Innovative Solutions & Support, Exton, Pa., named John C. Long chief financial officer. Long will be responsible for the company’s financial operations, including accounting and financial reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and maintaining the company’s relationships with lending institutions, shareholders and the financial community. Long replaces James J. Reilly, who is retiring. Long, who has more than 20 years of senior financial management experience, most recently served as vice president-treasurer and secretary of Arrow International, a NASDAQ-listed manufacturer. Before that, Long was controller for a diversified holding company, and was responsible for directing all aspects of the company’s financial reporting, IT systems development and support, acquisition activity and tax management.

Robert Maxson

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) named Robert Maxson director of the Aviation Weather Center in Kansas City, Mo. Maxson has 30 years of experience in aviation weather as a NOAA Corps officer and pilot. He began his NOAA career in 1978 in Kings Point, N.Y., and retired in 2005 as director of NOAA Aircraft Operations Center, at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. He has also been a research pilot with the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo. Operating 24 hours a day, the Aviation Weather Center issues warnings, forecasts and advisories of hazardous weather for the commercial and private aviation communities.

Michael Scavone

VECTr Systems, Falls Church, Va., named Cmdr. Michael Scavone, USN (Ret.) director of business development and operations. VECTr Systems develops and markets mission management systems used in airborne surveillance and reconnaissance applications. During his 25-year naval career, Scavone flew aircraft including the A-6 Intruder and the F-14 Tomcat. More recently, he served in various capacities, including overseeing Tomahawk mission planning capabilities and fleetwide implementation of Operational Risk Management principles and procedures.

Faina Zaslavsky

Crane Aerospace & Electronics, Redmond, Wash., named Faina Zaslavsky director of microelectronics solutions. Zaslavsky joined Crane in 1991 as senior process engineer. Before that, she was the principal engineer at Westmark International. The microelectronics solutions business specializes in miniaturizing electronic circuits to reduce size and minimize weight. The microcircuits are used in space, aerospace, military, industrial and commercial applications.

Paul G. Kaminski

Paul G. Kaminski was named as Aerospace Industry Association’s representative to the NextGen Institute Management Council. Kaminski is chairman and CEO of Technovation, Inc., and senior partner in Global Technology Partners. A former under secretary of defense for Acquisition and Technology, he spent 20 years in the Air Force. Kaminski chaired the National Research Council Committee on the Decadal Survey of Civil Aeronautics report, which developed a roadmap for investment in aeronautics research and technology in 2006. Most recently he completed a National Academies review of the benefits of systems engineering for future Air Force systems acquisition.

John Hartman

ITCN, Dayton, Ohio, named John Hartman branch manager at its Warner Robins, Ga., office. Hartman has more than 25 years of industry experience in avionics, IT and electronic warfare. Hartman previously served as director of operations at Megabyte International Corp. and vice president, operations, at Phoenix Technical Services Corp.

Todd Hauge

Aspen Avionics, Albuquerque, N.M., named Todd Hauge chief financial officer. Hauge has more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience, most recently at WorkRite Ergonomics, where he was first CFO, and later promoted to president. Before WorkRite, Hauge held finance positions at Vestor Holdings, a private equity fund, and Deloitte & Touche, where he was senior manager, Emerging Business Services.

Dave Molsberry

Florida Jet Center, located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., named Dave Molsberry avionics manager. Florida Jet Center is an aircraft maintenance facility specializing in Learjets. Molsberry was most recently with Duncan Aviation as Western regional marketing representative for component services. He also served as avionics satellite manager for the Fort Lauderdale, Santa Ana, Calif., and Denver locations.
