North Atlantic Industries (NAI), of Bohemia, N.Y., released a 3U, cPCI DC/DC converter, 55MQ2, which provides 150 watts of output power at full load over its operating temperature range of -55°C to +85°C (conduction cooled and measured at card edge). This rugged design is ideally suited for military airborne, shipboard and ground applications, the company said. The 55MQ2 is designed and manufactured to NAVSO P3641 component derating guidelines. It contains an integrated EMI filter compliant with MIL-STD-461E. Navigation Interface

Cobham Avionics-Artex Products, of Aurora, Ore., introduced two Navigation Interface units compatible with the Artex ME406 ELT. The ME-232 and ME-183 units are designed to be connected between an aircraft’s GPS receiver and ME406 beacon. The units are compatible with both console mounted and handheld GPS devices. Flight Deck Retrofit

Avidyne Corp., Lincoln, Mass., said its Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck (IFD) system will be available as a retrofit upgrade for existing Entegra-equipped Piper PA-46 Meridian, Mirage and Matrix aircraft. Pitot Probes

SpaceAge Control, of Palmdale, Calif., was selected by Composite Engineering, Inc. (CEi) to provide miniature pitot probes for CEi subscale target systems. These air data probes provide the primary total pressure information required by the aerial target. VHF-AM Transceiver

Becker Avionics, of Rheinmünster, Germany, introduced the AR6201 — a VHF-AM transceiver with 8.33 kHz channel spacing and integrated voice activated intercom system for up to four passengers. The AR6201 uses digital signal processing (DSP) technology, and operates on a frequency range of 118.000 MHz to 136.990 MHz with selectable channel spacing of 25kHz or 8.33 kHz. G600 Upgrade

Garmin, of Olathe, Kan., is adding standard features to its G600 avionics suite, including synthetic vision and the GAD 43 adapter, providing autopilot attitude reference. Video Recorder

Skyquest Aviation, based in Berkshire, U.K., unveiled a high-definition video recorder targeted for the airborne surveillance sector. The company said the recorder is 10 percent the size and weight of the equivalent commercial device, and allows a full mission’s worth of HD video to be stored on a standard compact flash card. ‘Intelligent’ Displays

Z Microsystems, of San Diego, introduced its Intelligent Display Series with real-time enhanced video. The LCDs use a FPGA for image enhancement algorithms for live video surveillance feeds applicable to UAVs, the company said. The image enhancement algorithm brings out the detail from images degraded by poor visibility or atmospheric interference. The edge detection algorithm highlights details for surveillance and bomb damage assessment. National Instruments, based in Austin, Texas, introduced NI-XNET CAN and FlexRay embedded network interfaces, which help aerospace and automotive engineers prototype, simulate and test next-generation FlexRay and controller area network (CAN) devices and networks, the company said.
