Zhang, Asian Sales Manager

Condor Engineering has expanded its presence in Asian markets by naming Sarah Zhang the sales manager for the region. She represents Condor in countries such as China, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. Zhang has brought embedded computing systems to Asia for eight years, serving as director of Asia/Pacific sales for SBS Technologies Inc. and as Asian sales manager for VMIC. Gurule, Sales Manager

Radstone Embedded Computing has hired John Gurule as its western area sales manager. Gurule joins Radstone from Rhode & Schwartz Radio Communications Division and will work out of the company's western sales office in Corona, Calif. Lewis, VP-Advanced Development

BAE Systems' Information and Electronic Systems Integration (IESI) sector has named Michael Lewis the vice president of advanced development for the new Advanced Programs business line. Lewis comes to BAE Systems from Raytheon where he has spent the last 24 years. He was most recently the director of command and control systems for Raytheon's Network Centric Systems. Liotta, Sales Manager

Gordon, Dealer Sales

Sandel Avionics has named Pat Gordon to the new position of dealer sales manager for the midwest region. He will focus on helping dealers promote the Sandel ST3400 terrain awareness warning system/radio magnetic indicator (TAWS/RMI) and expanding the company's presence in the central United States. Gordon previously worked for Edmo Distributors, Aero Express and Honeywell, where he worked out of the Bendix/King operation in Olathe, Kan. Visit www.sandel.com.

New Officials

Honeywell has named Paul Gillette president and chief executive officer (CEO) of its Aerospace business sector. He succeeds Robert Johnson, who will retire in January 2006. Gillette has been with the company for 26 years. Honeywell also has named Adriane Brown president and CEO of its Transportation Systems business sector. Brown, who was most recently the vice president and general manager of Aerospace Engine Systems and Accessories, succeeds Gillette. Visit www.honeywell.com.

Garcia, Award Recipient

Luis Garcia, the director of maintenance for Papillon Airways Inc. of Grand Canyon, Ariz., has won the Helicopter Association International's 2004 Aviation Repair Specialist Award. The award was presented at Heli-Expo on Feb. 7, in Anaheim, Calif. Garcia was recognized for his success in managing the repair of a mixed fleet of 35 helicopters and maintaining a better than 95 percent operational readiness rate. Visit www.rotor.com.

New Officials

ThalesRaytheonSystems Ltd. (TRS), the joint venture between Thales Group and Raytheon Co., has named Michel Mathieu chief executive officer. He replaces Terry Heil who was appointed chairman of TRS. Williams, VP and General Manager

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has named Brian Williams the vice president and general manager of its Burbank, Calif., site. New Officials

FlightSafety International recently promoted Jim Waugh to executive vice president. Waugh joined the company in 1976 as its director of marketing and then served as vice president of marketing up until the promotion.

FlightSafety International also has promoted Russ Axtell to the position of assistant manager of the company's Raytheon Learning Center in Wichita, Kan.; Julie Goodridge to assistant manager of its West Palm Beach Learning Center, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Dick Grant to assistant manager of the Savannah Learning Center, Savannah, Ga. The FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in Portland, Maine, has named Andy Scanlon of Columbia Air Services Inc. its 2004 Avionics Technician of the Year.
