Roy Robertson

The Airline Avionics Institute (AAI) has awarded the 2005 Volare Award in Avionics Manufacturer to Roy Robertson, principal systems engineer at Rockwell Collins, for his work on the WXR-2100 multiscan hazard weather detection system. AAI referred to Robertson as Collins' "voice and face" of airborne radar for the past 20 years. He joined the company in 1973. Dan Marsh

Crane Aerospace & Electronics, Lynnwood, Wash., recently appointed Dan Marsh vice president of Electronic Manufacturing Solutions and Microelectronics Solutions. His new role places him in charge of two of the five units comprising Crane's Electronics Group. C.D. Moore

Col. C.D. Moore has been named director of the F/A-22 system program office, succeeding Brig. Gen. Thomas Owen, who served as director since 2002. Moore assumed the position during a ceremony at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Jennifer Richardson

Jennifer Richardson has joined Optical Alchemy Inc., a Maynard, Mass.-based manufacturer of ultra-light inertial, stabilized sensor systems for unmanned vehicles, as vice president of engineering. Pitts, Johnson, Ensor

Northrop Grumman recently announced a series of promotions. James Pitts has been named corporate vice president and president of the Electronic Systems sector. John Johnson assumes Pitts' former position of vice president and general manager of Northrop's Aerospace Systems Division. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has named Martin Smith chancellor of its Extended Campus, comprising more than 130 teaching centers throughout the world. Jay Emery
