Universal Avionics Falcon 900B Flight Deck Ready for Service Entry

[Avionics Today January 24, 2014] The Universal Avionics Dassault Falcon 900B flight deck upgrade is ready to enter service after the Arizona-based company's partner Duncan Aviation completed and delivered two aircraft equipped with the new technology.

Falcon 900B operators receive improvements that are not available on current new-production aircraft, says Bruce Bunevich, regional sales manager at Universal Avionics. Included with the EFI-890R upgrade are capabilities such as Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) and Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV), Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ and Link 2000+.

Additionally, the avionics refresh features five high-resolution Universal EFI-890R advanced flight displays with Engine Interface Units (EIU) that replace the analog gauges on in-service Falcon 900B jets.

“Universal Avionics and Duncan Aviation’s upgrade program provides new technology that the Falcon 900B community has been asking for,” said Bunevich.  “The upgrade offers significant improvements beyond current new-production aircraft, and is specifically developed for minimal transitional flight crew training."
