[Avionics Magazine 11-02-2016] The FAA has certified Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line II-equipped King Air B200 series aircraft upgrade, the company said on Oct. 31. Available through authorized dealers, this Pro Line Fusion avionics upgrade has the first touchscreen primary flight display to be certified for operational use.
The upgrade features the largest widescreen primary flight display available, at 14.1 inches with advanced graphics. It also includes ADS-B mandate compliance, Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)-capable Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approaches, Radius-to-Fix (RF) legs, among other items. The B200 will also have synthetic vision, with the company’s airport dome, as well as extended runway centerlines with mile markers.
Navigation is also part of the upgrade, with geo-referenced electronic navigation charts that display own-ship aircraft position. Other features include touch-interactive maps featuring eyes-forward flight planning, high-resolution topography, real-time onboard weather radar overlays, obstacles, special-use airspace and search patterns and more.
