Wing Part Found on Indonesian Runway
Workers found a 10-foot long side engine cover on a runway at Jakarta’s Sukarno-Hatta International Airport on Dec. 4, and Indonesian air safety officials were trying to determine which aircraft it fell from. The aircraft structure had dropped to a runway used for domestic passenger and cargo flights. Last month, a similar-sized piece of debris fell from a Boeing 737 operated by Batavia Air minutes after takeoff. The Boeing 737 carrying 144 people landed safely. The part of that aircraft was later found near the airport. It is reported that six airline workers were suspended over the incident.
