US and Korea Sign Aviation Safety Pact

South Korea is now able to export aviation-related goods directly to the United States now that Korea’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration have entered into an agreement concerning comprehensive cooperation in aviation safety. The pact covers airworthiness of Korean aviation products, aircraft maintenance and training institutions. Korean firms can now get FAA certification and export 150 kinds of goods to the United States, including tires and avionics, under their own brands. CASA says the agreement shows that Korea’s aviation-related certifications are at an even par with those of the United States.
