Regional Air in Spotlight

The Aero Club of Washington will hold its March luncheon on Monday, March 22, 2010, featuring Russell “Chip” Childs, President and Chief Operating officer of SkyWest Airlines and Chairman of the Regional Airline Association.

Addressing the Club with “A View from the World's Largest Independently-Owned Regional Airline,” Mr. Childs will provide his perspective on the opportunities and challenges confronting the regional airline industry today.

At SkyWest, Mr. Childs leads more than 10,000 employees who operate more than 1,700 flights each day in 156 cities throughout North America. Last year alone, the airline transported more than 21 million passengers.

Mr. Childs’ commitment to the airline’s people – coupled with his management of the carrier’s partner relationships (with Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and AirTran Airways), financial planning and internal controls – has kept SkyWest on the leading edge of the industry.
