New Component for A119

Aerospace Filtration Systems (AFS has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) for an Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) system for the AgustaWestland A119/AW119 Ke helicopters.

A welcome equipment addition to these versatile aircraft, the IBF helps prevent engine damage in all environments. South American A119/AW119 Ke operators now have the opportunity to realize the proven operating cost reductions and increased operational capabilities an IBF offers.

Donaldson Inlet Barrier Filter systems are already in use by operators worldwide in corporate, rescue, firefighting and utility missions.

Successful development of the IBF resulted from a strong partnership between Donaldson St. Louis and AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica Company.

The A119/AW119 Ke IBF system features flat filter assemblies with an integral bypass design creating a sealed intake plenum. The emergency bypass capability is an important IBF feature and is not included in most traditional sand filters and particle separators.
