The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) has named Eric Thacker and Sametta Barnett as the organization’s new security team. Thacker will be joining ATA as director – security operations, effective immediately. Thacker, most recently general manager – security technology, compliance and facilitation for Delta Air Lines, will be responsible for daily Transportation Security Administration interface and coordination. Barnett will be joining ATA at the beginning of 2009 as managing director – security. Barnett, recently director – government affairs for Delta Air Lines and also formerly the director of cargo transportation and trade security for the Department of Homeland Security and chief of congressional relations for the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be charged with ATA’s government affairs security policies.
