NTSB Wants Takeoff Procedures Changed

As the result of the August Comair accident at a Kentucky airport as well as a near mishap at the same airport, the National Transportation Safety Board recommended the FAA require all Part 121 pilots confirm they are on the right runway before takeoff begins. The Board wants all crewmembers to positively confirm and cross check their location and that they are on the assigned departure runway. It also wants all operators to issue guidance on runway lighting requirements for takeoff operations at night. More
